Privacy Policy

Cellairn ("we", "us") is operated by Cellairn LLC. This policy explains what information the Cellairn app collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Account information: your email address and username, used to create and secure your account. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email address (and, for Apple, the name you choose to share) from that provider.
• Profile information: an optional display name and profile photo you choose to add.
• Age confirmation: the date of birth you provide to confirm you are of legal drinking age.
• Your content: the bottles in your cellar and wish list, your ratings, reviews, flavor notes, quantities, and any purchase prices or bottle photos you add.
• Usage information: basic device and app-activity information used to operate and improve the app, including crash and error reports.
• Push notification tokens: if you enable notifications, a device token used to deliver them. You can turn notifications off anytime in Settings.
• Subscription status: whether you have an active premium subscription. Payment is handled by the app store; we never see your payment details.
• Retailer link activity: if you tap a "find at retailer" link on a bottle page, we record that a link to that retailer was tapped for that bottle. What you do on the retailer's site is governed by their privacy policy.

Location data in bottle photos (EXIF/GPS) is removed before upload.

How we use your information

• To provide the app's core features, meaning your cellar, ratings, wish list, and social feed.
• To connect you with friends you choose to add and show their activity you have permission to see.
• To generate bottle information, tasting notes, and advisor responses using automated (AI) services.
• To maintain security and improve the product.

AI and image features

Some features send information to third-party AI and image-processing providers to generate descriptions, tasting notes, advisor answers, personal reviews, and cleaned-up product images. Depending on the feature, what is sent can include:

• Bottle names and catalog details.
• Photos you take of bottles, and the profile photo you upload (which is automatically screened for unacceptable content before it is stored).
• The question or tasting notes you type.
• For the AI advisor and guided tasting: your collection, your ratings, your flavor preferences, and the text of reviews you have written, so the answer can be about your actual palate rather than generic.

These requests are not used to advertise to you, and we do not send your email address, real name, or password to these providers. They are, however, tied to your account internally so we can attribute usage and detect abuse.

We currently use: Anthropic (Claude) and Google (Gemini) for text and vision, Replicate for image processing, Supabase for database, storage, and authentication, Expo for delivering push notifications, Resend for email, RevenueCat for subscriptions, and Sentry for crash reporting. This list may change as we improve the product; material changes will be reflected here.

How your information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• Friends you connect with in the app, who can see the cellar and activity you make visible to them.
• Service providers that host our data and power features (named individually in the "AI and image features" section above) under agreements that limit their use of the data.
• Legal reasons: if required by law or to protect our rights and users.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and associated data at any time from Settings in the app. Deletion removes your profile, cellar, ratings, reviews, wish list, and photos.

Age

Cellairn is intended only for users of legal drinking age (21+ in the United States). We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under that age.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
